SURGICAL PROCEDURES

Objective:
to increase the volume of the breasts, bringing harmony to the body.

Breast Implants or Breast Augmentation is the most popular surgery among women. This technique seeks to correct, return the volume and increase the size and projection of the breasts, bringing balance to the body, self-esteem, and confidence to the woman. To perform the procedure and choose the right size of the prosthesis, the physical characteristics of each patient are respected, assessing its age, height, and chest dimensions.

The surgery lasts about 1 to 2 hours and, through general or local anesthesia associated with intravenous sedation, the breast prosthesis can be placed via the retromuscular (behind the pectoral muscle), retroglandular (between the muscle and the mammary gland), retrofascial (below the muscular fascia) or dual plane (submuscular and subglandular part) – the incision can be made below the breasts, in the areolas or in the armpits. It is worth noting that the material of the prosthesis is of high quality and inert: silicone gel, not harmful to health . The breast implant does not impede clinical or radiological examination of the breasts nor does it interfere with the breastfeeding process.

Preoperative: before the procedure, the patient answers a questionnaire about his lifestyle, his health, and expectations. At the consultation, laboratory tests are requested and based upon the results, recommendations are provided for taking or pausing the use of certain medications as well as for adjusting the doses of the routine medications being taken; also, the patient is advised to stop smoking and the consumption of alcoholic beverages days before surgery – it is also important to avoid aspirin, anti-inflammatories, anticoagulants and natural remedies. Absolute fasting of 8 hours is required on the day before the surgery (solid and liquid foods).
On the day of surgery, you need to bring a modeling bra compatible with the new volume of the breasts.

Postoperative: after the procedure, the doctor prescribes the needed medications to optimize the cicatrization process as well as to prevent infections. Afterward, it is recommended to use a surgical bra or elastic bandage to reduce swelling and support the breasts. It is important to avoid raising your arms, sleeping on your breasts during the recovery process, and also avoiding any physical contact without a bra for three to four weeks. The recovery period is 24 to 48 hours, along with resting for a few days.
